About the tour

Snowmobiling on Langjökull Glacier – A Thrilling Arctic Adventure

Snowmobiling on Langjökull Glacier is a once-in-a-lifetime experience in the heart of Iceland’s icy wilderness. Join us for an unforgettable ride across one of Iceland’s most spectacular glaciers. This is the ultimate way to explore the stunning Langjökull, the country’s second-largest glacier.

We start by driving in a Super Jeep up towards the glacier. This journey offers stunning mountain views and is an adventure on its own. From the base camp near Skjól, the tour lasts 3–4 hours including gear-up, instruction, and the ride itself.

Gear Up and Ride Across an Icy Giant

At base camp, your guide provides snowmobiling suits, helmets, gloves, and balaclavas. After a short safety briefing, you’ll begin snowmobiling on Langjökull Glacier. The one-hour snowmobile ride takes you across a pristine white landscape of endless ice.

Langjökull is home to ancient ice-filled volcanic craters rimmed by massive volcanoes. The views are otherworldly. On clear days, you’ll see the dome-shaped Hofsjökull, the striking Eiríksjökull, and the rugged Kerlingarfjöll Mountains.

The snowmobile is easy to operate, even for beginners. Your professional glacier guide ensures your safety and enjoyment throughout the tour.
